Christy Medley, 44, Logansport, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, July 15, 2023, in the emergency room at Logansport Memorial Hospital, from complications related to an extended illness.
She was born October 30, 1978, in Logansport, Indiana. A 1997 graduate of Logansport High School, Christy attended college.
On December 26, 1998, in Lafayette, she was married to Craig Medley, who survives.
Christy loved children. She had worked as a houseparent in three different children’s homes over the years, helping raise 53 foster children. She and her husband also adopted four children.
Surviving with her husband, Craig, of nearly 25 years, is her mother and stepfather, Vicki (Spaulding) and Edward Medley; her father and stepmother, Mark and Theresa Hettinger; four children, Cassidy Medley, Mark (Chanmonwan) Medley, Elaine Medley, and Hailey Elmore-Medley; one brother, Joshua (Paige) Hettinger; one half-sister, CaraMae Hettinger; two nephews; four nieces, and one stepsister, Annastasia Hettinger. Christy was looking forward to becoming a grandma with a grandbaby on-the-way.
Burial, at a later date, will be in Yeoman Cemetery.
