Doris Joan “Jo” Bower, age 90, Logansport, passed away Thursday, July 13, 2023, in her residence, surrounded by her family.
Born April 24, 1933, in Logansport, she was the daughter of Charles and Ruth Fansler Enders.
On October 27, 1951, in St. Joseph’s Church in Logansport, she was married to Richard G. Bower, who preceded her in death on May 5, 2014. They were married sixty-two years and she was very proud of that.
Joan retired from Federal Mogul in 1995 after twenty-five years in the Human Resources Department. Prior to those years she was a homemaker and in her younger days worked at Cary Quad, Purdue University. She was a graduate of Logansport High School, where she was a varsity cheerleader.
Surviving are a son, Michael (Sallie) Bower, Galveston; two daughters, Kelly (Tom) Ulerick, Walton, Kerry Bower-Herr, Deland, Florida. Also surviving are grandchildren, Jennifer (Jeff) Moss, Chelsea (Bryce) McDonald, Jillian (Luke) Shideler, Riley Bower, Hunter Herr and Blake Ulerick.
Also surviving are great grandchildren, Jocelyn (Michael) Fortmeyer, Jenna Moss, Jonathan Moss, Deacon, Maelee and Lynnen McDonald, Mason Shideler; several step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A sister, Dorothy Lancaster, and son-in-law, Richard Herr, preceded her in death.
From 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Monday, July 17th, there will be a gathering of relatives and friends at Kroeger Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, with Jeff Moss officiating.
Private interment will be in Mount Hope Cemetery at a later date.
Kroeger Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Cass County 4-H Association. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
