Keith Alan “Shorty” Woodruff

Keith Alan “Shorty” Woodruff, 61, of Logansport, passed away Tuesday, July 18, 2023, at the St. Vincent Heart Center of Indianapolis.

Born on August 25, 1961, in Logansport, Shorty is the son of the late Franklin W. Woodruff and was raised by Edna (Brewer) and Gordon “Jug” DeHaven.  Shorty’s longtime companion for over 20 years is Julie Nagel and she survives.

Shorty is a 1979 graduate of Logansport High School.  He had worked as an electrician and for National Wine and Spirits (RNDC) of Indianapolis.

Shorty was a family man, he loved spending time with them, especially his grandchildren. He loved golfing at Dykeman Park and Curtis Creek. He enjoyed camping, fishing, and fixing anything he could get his hands on.  He has been a long-time member and past Exalted Ruler of the Elk’s Lodge #66 of Logansport.

Surviving along with his companion Julie Nagel, is a daughter, Morgan Woodruff of Bradenton, FL; grandson, Parker Johns; brothers James “Jim” (Linda) Woodruff and Frankie Woodruff; sister, Cindy Sommer of Indianapolis; stepbrother, Richard Dehaven; stepsisters, Darla Miller and Myra Lincoln; Julie’s children who Shorty considered his own, Taylor (Matt) White and Don (Danielle) Thornburgh, and 4 bonus grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Timothy Woodruff.

A celebration of life will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, July 21, 2023, at Gundrum Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Aaron Gross officiating. A private burial will take place in the Mount Hope Cemetery, Logansport.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service on Friday.  An Elk’s Service will take place Friday evening to begin the funeral service.

Memorials in Shorty’s honor may be made to the Elk’s Lodge #66 (1100 N. 3rd St., Logansport), or to the Dykeman Clubhouse Project via the Logansport Parks and Recreation Foundation (1701 Dividend Drive, Logansport). Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
