Maggie H. (Moyer) Bechtol

Maggie H. Bechtol, 68, of Logansport, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, July 1, 2023, at Community Heart and Vascular Hospital in Indianapolis.   Maggie was born December 4, 1954, in Marion, Indiana.  She was raised by her father and stepmother, Duane and Joyce Moyer.  She married Steven M. Bechtol on Valentine’s Day, 1985.  Steve preceded her in death on February 19, 2018.

Maggie retired from Marion General Hospital in patient accounts with several years’ service.  She loved antiques and opened Mimzy’s Café and Antiques in Walton after her husband Steve passed away.   It was there she met a very special friend and companion Rick Lee who became her soul mate.  Maggie also loved gardening and cooking.   She loved her grandchildren dearly and enjoyed spending time with her family.

Surviving family include her companion, Rick Lee of Logansport; her children, Tiffany (Rob) Favors of Walton and Bryan Bechtol of Indianapolis.  She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren, Caitlin Favors, Alex Bechtol, Alexis Favors, Morgan (Dakota) Hoover, Spencer Favors and Rylan Bowman.  Surviving great grandchildren include, Paisleigh, Breslynn, Delilah, Stevi and Esmé.  Maggie is also survived by two brothers, Bill Moyer of Georgia and Brian Moyer of Florida.   She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Steve, a great granddaughter, Cora Bechtol and two stepbrothers, Bobby and Michael Vetor.

Visitation and Memorial Services will be held on Sunday, July 9, 2023, with visitation starting at 2:00 p.m. and the memorial service concluding the day at 5:00 p.m. at Murray Weaver Funeral Home in Galveston with Wendy Oaks officiating.  There will be a gathering after services at the Walton Community Center and everyone is invited.  The family would like to extend a very special “Thank You” to the staff at Community Heart and Vascular Hospital in Indianapolis for the wonderful care they gave Maggie.   Murray Weaver Funeral Home in Galveston has been entrusted with her arrangements. www.murrayweaverfuneralhome.com
