Richard E. ‘Stubby’ Stubblefield

Richard E. ‘Stubby’ Stubblefield, age 73, Logansport, passed away on Friday, July 7, 2023, in his daughter’s residence in rural Wabash.

Born in Logansport on October 28, 1949, he was the son of Ervin and Betty (Figley) Stubblefield, both of whom preceded him in death.

On July 9, 1982, he was married to Natalie Dewey, who passed away on December 2, 2021.

Richard retired from Nelson Tube Company after working for years for Bill Hudson’s wrecker service and Check Motors.

He enjoyed sitting in the Walmart Subway waiting for Natalie to leave work. He also enjoyed playing croquet.

Stubby’s children and grandchildren were his life and he loved being with his family.

He also loved listening to music and watching old Western movies and wrestling on TV.

Surviving are daughters, Lynn (Ben) Thieke, Peru and Mary (Brad) Hutsell, Wabash; sister, Linda Brown, Wabash; and grandchildren, Kody Childress, Ariahna Hutsell and Aiden Hutsell.

Stubby was also preceded in death by niece, Tina Brown and nephew, Mike Brown.

The visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., on Thursday, July 13, 2023, at Kroeger Funeral Home. The service will follow at 1:00 p.m., also at the funeral home.

Interment will be in Ever-Rest Memorial Park immediately following the service.
