John D. Tritt

John D. Tritt, 79, of Walton, passed away Tuesday, August 8, 2023, at Community Howard Regional Hospital in Kokomo.  He was born January 9, 1944, in Logansport to Harry Davis and Mary Catherine (Shilling) Tritt.  He married Margo Edson Warm on November 14, 1992, and she survives.  John worked for the USDA as a food safety inspector for many years.  He served his country in the United States Navy during Vietnam at the U.S. Naval station in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, Danang, Vietnam, aboard the USS Repose and at the U.S. Naval Hospital in Newport, Rhode Island and the Naval Medical School at Bethesda, Maryland.

John was a member of the Temple B’Nai Israel in Kokomo as well as serving on the board. He was an artist and enjoyed art of all kinds.  He leaves behind his wife Margo Tritt of Walton; and children, Kristi (Josh) Enyart, Peru and Nathaniel Tritt, Walton.  He is also survived by his grandchildren, Seth and Isaiah Enyart of Peru, and sister Dana Sylvia (Ron) Hoffer of New Haven, IN.  He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and son, Andrew Warm.  Memorial contributions may be given to Temple B’nai Israel, 618 West Superior St., Kokomo, Indiana 46901 or Walton Public Library or Friends of the Walton Public Library in Walton, IN.

Memorial services will be held Thursday, August 17th, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at Murray Weaver Funeral Home in Galveston with Dustin Smith officiating.  Burial of ashes will follow in May’s Cemetery near Onward, Indiana.
