Aprile R. Alexander, 91, of Westfield, passed away Tuesday, August 29, 2023, at Sanders Glen Assisted Living in Westfield.  She was born April 15, 1932, in Woodstock, IL to Thomas B. and Adline (Kenders) Dalziel.  She married George D. Alexander on September 12, 1953, in Fox Lake, IL and he preceded her in death October 8, 1992.

Aprile was a telephone receptionist for many years, worked for John Manville, as an auction clerk for A-Team Realty and Auctions, and a dairy farmer, but most of all she enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren.  She enjoyed volunteering for the Shrine Club in Logansport, gardening, reading, playing solitaire, and spending time with her family.  In her later years she became part of the Sanders Glen family as an ambassador for the assisted living center.

Surviving family include her children, Craig Alexander of Westfield, Monica Alexander of Dunedin, FL, Scott (Kay) Alexander of Mount Airy, NC, and Debbie (Larry) Rogers of Royal Center.  She is also survived by grandchildren, Sally (Mark) Groff, Marcy Etemadi, Ross (Jess) Alexander and Ryan (Lindsay) Alexander, as well as great grandchildren, Justin and Leslie Groff, Sarah Etemadi, Parker Alexander, Brayden and Finley Alexander.  Surviving siblings include, Joyce Llanas of Kenosha, WI, Sharon Bierchen of Lakevilla, IL, and sister-in-law Anna Rau of Rochester Hills, MI.  She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by her parents, husband George, son Brad Alexander, brother and sister-in-law, Don (Carol) Dalziel, and brother-in-laws, Ted Bierchen and Howard Rau.

A celebration of Aprile’s life will be held Friday, September 22, 2023, from 11 – 1 p.m. at Bookers Bar and Grill, 109 N. Main St., Kirklin, IN 46050.  Burial of ashes will take place at 2:00 p.m. in the Galveston Cemetery, 12455 So Rd 1000 E, Galveston, Indiana.  Memorial contributions may be given to Accentcare Hospice of Season’s Hospice Foundation, 2629 Waterfront Pkwy E Dr. Ste 375, Indianapolis, IN 46214
