Darcas Zicafoose

Darcas de-Voue Zicafoose, 85, of Logansport, passed away, surrounded by her family, on Friday, September 8, 2023, in her residence.

Born on May 13, 1938, in Logansport, Darcas is the daughter of the late Joseph and Bettia (Noble Burkhart.  On October 25, 1985, Darcas married Richard C. Zicafoose who survives.

Darcas retired in 2000 after 33 years of service as a supervisor at the Logansport State Hospital.

Surviving Darcas, along with her husband Richard, are four daughters, Cindy (Rusty) Walters of Monticello; Cheryl (Greg) Ladd of Rossville;  Connie (Kevin) McCarthy of Logansport; Bettia (Trent) Titus of Twelve Mile; one son, Brian (Michelle) Zicafoose, NC; 13 grandchildren, Natasha Walters, Bill Tabler Jr., Troy (Amy) Hudson , Travis (Kensi) Yoakum, Joshua (Aubrey) Titus, Steven (Deidre) Frank, Kian (Micheal) Washington, Cody (Lacy) Ladd, Tahisha (Zachary) Faw, Amber (Chris) Daily, Dustin (Nicole) Yoakum, Nicole Zicafoose and Destiny Green; 22 great grandchildren; two sisters, Susan Jones of Tennessee; Nancy (Emery) Gay of Kansas; and a brother, Tim (Mary Beth) Burkhart of Logansport.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Danny Joe Burkhart.

A celebration of life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, September 14, 2023, at Gundrum Funeral Home.  A burial will follow in the Mount Hope Cemetery, Logansport.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 -7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, also I the funeral home.
