Robert Joseph Hanlon, age 75, Logansport, passed away Wednesday, September 6th, at 10:37 a.m. in the emergency room at Logansport Memorial Hospital.

Visitation will be Wednesday, September 13th, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Kroeger Funeral Home. The rosary will be prayed at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday. The Logansport Elks will conduct a memorial service during visitation.

The Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Thursday at All Saints Catholic Church, with Fr. Adam Mauman officiating.

Interment at Mount Hope Cemetery will be private, with military honors accorded at that time.  

Born January 13, 1948, in Waterbury, CT, Bob was the son of Robert V. and Anne Kuzmik Hanlon. He was preceded in death by his parents as well as his wife’s parents, Paul and Zeta Deegan.

Bob attended Farleigh Dickinson University and graduated from Southwest Missouri State University. As a student, he was a member of Alpha Phi Omega.

He served in the United States Air Force, attaining the rank of Sergeant. He was a member of the American Legion Post 60.

Bob was well-known in the Logansport area as a Prudential Insurance agent, achieving the Life Underwriters Training Council designation.

He was married to Barb Deegan on July 10, 1971, in St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Logansport.  

In addition to his wife, Barb, surviving are sons, Shawn (Stephanie) Hanlon, Huntsville, AL, Seth Hanlon, Logansport; daughters, Jennifer Rosenberger, Logansport, Andrea (David) Nicoles, Logansport; grandchildren, Madelene Rosenberger, Caleb Rosenberger, Chase Hanlon, Isabella Nicoles and Deegan Nicoles.

Also surviving are brother, James (Susan) Hanlon, New Hope, PA, Jane (Ray) Virgens, Mahwah, NJ; several nieces and nephews.

Bob, a devoted family man, was very active in the community. A member of All Saints Catholic Church, Bob was a member of the Knights of Columbus, St. Francis of Assisi Council 561, and the Pulaski Assembly, Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus, where he served as Grand Knight and District Deputy.

Bob was an avid golfer. He was a member of the Cass County Roosters, Cass County Purdue Alumni Association, Logansport Jaycees, the Logansport Elks, BPOE #66, and a charter member of the Logansport Morning Kiwanis Club. He had been president of the Cass County March of Dimes.

Kroeger Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cass County Roosters.
