Thomas C. Minniear

Thomas (Tommy) Collins Minniear, age 70, of Logansport, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2023, in
St. Vincent Hospital of Indianapolis.

Born October 11, 1952, to the late Thomas Winton Minniear and Lois Joann (Dawson) Minniear. Tommy became a father in 1975 to a daughter and gained a son when she married in 1994. On February 14, 2013, in Logansport, Thomas married Mary Ann Zech.

Tommy was a retired Professional Musician who traveled the United States and Canada playing the Pedal Steel Guitar for artists such as Gary Gentry, Jack Boles, Allen Frizzel, Little Jimmy Dickens, Tomm Collins, Dotty West, Jim Glaser, and several other artists. When he wasn’t touring with those artists, he formed his own bands and kept his career a little closer to home. Tommy also enjoyed writing songs and had a passion for painting vehicles. His family and time spent with them was his greatest love.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann Minniear; one daughter and son, Christina Kay (Minniear) Overly and Erik Michael Overly; two grandchildren, Eron Miles Overly and Mahayla Kay Christine Overly; on brother, Perry Minniear (Dee Minniear); two sisters, Pam Minniear (Joe Staples) and Donna Minniear (Gary Morehouse); four nephews, Kenneth (Kit) Weaver, Cole Minniear, Seth Minniear, and Jacob Swisher; four nieces, Kylie Schmaltz, Whitney Frey, Abby Musall, and Kelsey Alma; four great nephews and twelve great nieces.

A celebration of life will be planned by the family, to be held at a later date.
