Ralph S. “Sam” Howard, age 65, Logansport, passed away at 4:52 p.m. Saturday, October 14th, in Franciscan Lafayette East Hospital.

Born in Logansport November 28, 1957, he was the son of John E. and Marybelle Spencer Howard.

On November 4, 1976, in Twelve Mile, he was married to Deborah Hudson, who survives, along with their precious, spoiled dog Elsa.

Ralph served ten years in the United States Air Force and later in the Army National Guard. He had been employed in retail sales.

Sam enjoyed fishing, camping, and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a big fan of the Miami “Dolphins”.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are daughters, Amanda Howard (Heath Hughes), Ashley Howard (Clarence Taylor); and a son, Austin (Kellee) Howard, all of Logansport; grandchildren, Yilian, Avery, Alijah, Alyssa, Aleyah, Alexia, Kell and Katherine.

Also surviving is a brother, Ronald (Susan) Howard, Midwest City, Oklahoma; and sister, Marcelyn (Jack) Deisher, Logansport.

Sam was preceded in death by an infant son, Jeremy Howard, and three brothers.

The funeral service is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 20th, at Kroeger Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dr. Chris Fleming officiating.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Friday, prior to the funeral service.

Interment with full military honors will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
