Shirley Yvonne Pickens

Shirley Yvonne Pickens, 88, of Logansport, passed away Sunday, October 22, 2023, in her residence.

Born on September 20, 1935, in Estel County, Kentucky, Shirley is the daughter of the late Charles and Bunah (Rogers) Spencer.  On May 3, 1952, in Young America, Indiana, she married Clyde E. Pickens who preceded in death on April 25, 2007.

Shirley loved traveling, especially to Nashville and Shipshewana. She enjoyed visiting with people, watching “Everybody Loves Raymond” and was an avid Elvis Presley and Donald Trump fan. One of her favorite things to do was to sit on her porch and admire her flowers. 

Surviving Shirley are four daughters, Cathy March of Culver; Becky (Paul) Ruff of Noblesville; Stephanie (Howard) Weaver of Idaville; Melissa (Armando) Reynoso of Logansport; four sons, Clyde (Veronica) Pickens Jr of  Oxford, IN; Tim (Deb) Pickens of Lucerne; Dan Pickens of Logansport; Scot Pickens of Lafayette; sister, Charlene (John) Turner of Logansport; several grandchildren; several great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren.

Shirley was preceded in death by a son, Steve Pickens; daughter, Lori Arzola; two brothers and two sisters.

A funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, October 27, 2023, at Gundrum Funeral Home with Rev. Kelly Spencer officiating.  A private burial will take place, at a later date, in the Metea Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Friday, October 27, 2023, also in the funeral home.
