Terry Lee Myers

Terry Lee Myers, 59, of Peru, passed away Thursday, October 19, 2023, surrounded by his family at home, following a lifelong battle with medical issues.

Born January 29, 1964, in Logansport, he was the son of Terry Lee Sr. and Mary Kay (Smith) Myers. His father preceded him in death in 1993. His mother married Eddie Showley in 2000, who Terry lovingly referred to as “Dad.”

A 1982 graduate of Logansport High School, Terry went on to graduate from Ivy Tech Community College with an Associate degree in Computer-aided Design (CAD).

On August 25, 1984, in Logansport, Terry married Rebecca “Becky” (Neff) Myers, who survives.

Terry was strong in his faith as a Christian who loved his Savior, Jesus, with his whole heart. He was a member of the Peru Church of the Nazarene.

A lifelong, diehard Chicago Cubs fan, Terry was known to wear Cubs clothing and collect memorabilia. In fact, he was rarely seen without Cubs attire, at least a Cubs hat. His cat was even named “Wrigley” as a tribute to his favorite team. Terry also enjoyed camping and being outdoors – especially during morel mushroom season.

Terry was very passionate about his family. He was a devoted husband, a loving father and a proud grandpa. Throughout his entire life, he had always been close to his siblings.

Surviving with his wife of nearly 40 years, Becky Myers, and his mother and stepfather, Mary and Ed Showley are his children, Hanna (Matt) Anderson, and Andrew (Allison) Myers; his siblings, Tracy (Kathy) Myers and Tammy (Don) Gellinger; six precious grandchildren, Isaac, Cooper, Alayna, Colson, Arabella and Marlee; and several nieces and nephews who he was very close to. Terry is also survived by a large family of aunts, uncles, cousins and in-laws, as well as many dear friends.

In addition to his father, Terry Sr., he was preceded in death by his sister, Tonya Myers, and his wife’s parents, Jim and Frances Neff.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, October 24 in Fisher Funeral Chapel. A funeral service celebrating the life of Terry Myers Jr. will begin at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel with Pastor Mark Elliott officiating.

Burial will follow in Davis Cemetery, near Burnettsville.
