Chester L. “Bud” Hendricks

Chester Lee (Bud) Hendricks, 62, of Galveston, passed away at his home November 18, 2023. He was born July 18, 1961, to Lorena (Bennett) and Chet Hendricks. He graduated from Eastern High School in 1980. On March 21, 1992, he married Dawn (Noel) Hendricks, and she survives.

Bud was a skilled craftsman and built houses for McKibben Construction. He helped build most of the homes in Brookshire Estates. He also worked at The Original Treasure Mart, where he enjoyed helping people find their treasures. Bud loved time with his grandchildren, collecting antiques, playing video games, and participated in several pool and dart leagues.

Surviving family include his wife, Dawn Hendricks of Galveston, IN.; a daughter, Vienna (Ben) Kraay of Flora, Ind., and three grandchildren, Wesley, Colton, and Logan Kraay. Other surviving family include his mother, Lorena Hendricks of Greentown, two brothers, Tom (Sandy) Hendricks, of Greentown, Ind., and John (Angela) Hendricks of Foley, AL.; a sister, Joyce (Scott) Flick of Greentown, Ind., as well as several nieces and nephews. He is proceeded in death by his father Chet Hendricks.

The Hendricks family invites friends to join them in celebrating Bud’s life on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, from 4 -8pm at Murray-Weaver Funeral Home in Galveston.
