George Peter Voltz II, 65, passed away peacefully on November 15, 2023 at home in the care of Guardian Angel Hospice.

A celebration of life ceremony is planned for December 16 at 2:00 p.m. at Kroeger Funeral Home.

Visitation with the family will be from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. prior to the ceremony.

He was born on December 4, 1957, the first son of George and Mildred Voltz in El Paso, Texas.

The Voltz family settled in rural Cass County and George attended Lewis Cass High School, graduating in 1976. After high school George attended Northwood University.

During and after college George worked in sales at Radio Shack. After a trip to the Smokey Mountains George returned to work and met a new sales associate, Pamela Fate. George and Pam married on September 16, 1978.

George and Pam lived in Lansing, Michigan then briefly in Indianapolis before moving to Logansport. They operated the Animal Empire in the Logansport Mall while George also worked at Logansport Shooter Supply and Radio Shack. In 1989 George accepted a sales position at Logansport Ford. He was promoted to sales manager and later moved to Hendrickson Motor Sales in downtown Logansport. In 2004 George took over management of Hendrickson Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Monticello which he co-owned until retirement in 2019.

George was passionate about many hobbies. He was an avid fisherman and shooter. He made countless fishing trips to Wabaskang Lake in Ontario with his group of fishing buddies and his kids and father. In the last few years he travelled to Alaska with Pam along with several trips to Costa Rica. He loved sharing meals with family and friends and was an excellent cook.

George will be missed by his friends, family, and former coworkers. He was known by many people to be incredibly generous. Friends and family knew he was just a phone call away and would do anything in his power to help a friend in need. 

Surviving in addition to his wife are his children, Jason Voltz, Ankeny, Iowa, Ryan Voltz, Westminster, Colorado, and Stephanie (Bradford) Dykhuizen, Lafayette, grandchildren George and Amelia Voltz, Ankeny, Iowa, sister Leslie (Gary) Bever, Kokomo, brother Wade (Mary) Voltz, Logansport and several nieces and nephews.
