James J. Bibby

James John Bibby, 76, of Logansport, passed away Friday, January 12, 2024, at Community Heart and Vascular Hospital in Indianapolis.

Born on October 3, 1947, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Jim is the son of the late James Elias and Marion (Herrmann) Bibby.  On November 8, 1980, in Logansport, Jim married Kathleen Jones who survives.

Jim worked as a clinical psychologist for many years working for the Logansport State Hospital and Comprehensive Development Centers. He was a former psychological associate at the Child and Adult Mental Health Center. Jim was a graduate of Purdue University with a master’s degree in psychology and had an undergraduate degree from Marquette University. He was Four County Mental Health’s first employee and was instrumental during the building phase and opening of the facility as an administrator. Jim was also very involved in Boy Scouts in the Logansport Community. Jim was a former member of Logansport Rotary Club, chairman of the Cass County United Way and the Logansport Jaycees/ Roosters.

Surviving along with his wife Kathleen, are two sons, James E. Bibby II, of Beech Grove, IN; John H. Bibby of Logansport; three sisters, Margaret (Dr. Henry) Ambrookian of Mequon, WI; Elizabeth (Jeffery) Cavanaugh of The Villages, FL; Anne (Dr. Lee) Weissgerber of Bayside, WI; brother-in-law, Harry “Skip” (Margaret) Jones of Ft. Wayne; sister-in-law, Pam (Bill) Nemecek of Charlotte, NC.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Mille.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 18, 2024, at Gundrum Funeral Home.
