Jean C. Morphet, 91, of Royal Center passed away peacefully at 10:05 a.m., Sunday, January 28, 2024, at Miller’s Merry Manor in Logansport.

Born on January 16, 1933, in Cass County, she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Mary Alice (Seybold) Hardy.

She was a 1951 Royal Center High School graduate. She attended Ball State.

On February 21, 1952, she married Don Morphet, he survives.

Jean retired in 1992 from the Logansport State Hospital after 20 years. She was a member of Logansport Church of Christ, Harrison Twp Home Ec Club and a 50-year member of the Lamplighters Home Ec Club. Serving as president of Cass County Extension Club.     Jean was also a longtime Cass County 4-H Leader. For several years, clerking at the Indiana Hampshire State Sales at Tippecanoe County fairgrounds.

She enjoyed watching grandkids and great grandkids play sports, show sheep and other activities. Sometimes traveling out of state to do so.

Survivors include her husband, Don Morphet of Royal Center, children, Vickie Goodrich (Greg) of Lucerne, Thomas Morphet (Kelly Bierrum) of Royal Center, Michael Morphet (Emily) of Logansport and sister, Dorothy Sparks (Richard)of Michigan City. Grandchildren, Greg Goodrich (Demara), Chandra Allen (Jim), Shelley Calisto (Ray), Marcus Goodrich, Nathan Easley (Melissa), Scott Easley (Kelly), Becky Hill (John), Shelly Weaver (Andy), Travis Morphet (Jaime), Aliah Morphet, and Zane Morphet, Great grandchildren, Miles, Camden and Aurora Goodrich, Jordan, Amelia, Gage and Ellis Allen, Isaac, Oscar and Emmitt Calisto, Chloe and Anna Goodrich, Brayden Easley, Madeline, Mackenzie, Michael and Maverick Easley, Quinn and Max Candela, Kelsey DeWitt (Mason), Kayla Moreno (Kevin), Bryce, Madison and Michael Weaver, Moriah and Esdon Morphet and great great granddaughter, Selena Moreno.

She was also preceded in death by her brother Lloyd Hardy, stepfather Andy Kuhn, daughter and son in law, Pamela and Steve Easley.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 3, 2024, at the Logansport Church of Christ, 2347 Burlington Ave., Logansport with Pastor Jeff Strite officiating. Visitation at 10:00am

Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday, February 2, 2024, at the church.

Burial will be at Indian Creek Christian Cemetery

Memorial contributions can be made to Logansport Church of Christ Building Fund and/or the Cass County 4-H Association.
