Linda Sue Ransford

Linda S. Ransford, 79, Logansport, passed away Saturday, January 6, 2024, in her residence.

Born March 21, 1944, in Ewing, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Asher and Laura (Collins) Lemarr.

On November 22, 1982, in Lafayette, she was married to Larry E. Ransford, who survives.

Linda was a graduate of Ewing High School in Virginia. She was retired after working as a newspaper receptionist for many years.

A member of the Anoka Community Church, Linda loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. An excellent seamstress, she enjoyed quilting and cross-stitch as well as crafts of all kinds. She also enjoyed caring for her flowers and her garden.

Surviving with her husband, Larry, are four children, Deborah (Michael) Thomas, Patty Ann (Dough) Smith, and James Allen (Melea) Henry, all of Logansport, and Cory (Judy) Ransford, Hawaii; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her siblings, James Collins, Pauline Parks, Bessie Clounce, and Jessie Lemarr; and one great-grandchild, Isac James Collins.

Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Fisher Funeral Chapel, Logansport, on Friday, January 12, where a funeral service celebrating Linda’s life will follow at 1 p.m. Pastor Doug Thomas will officiate at the service.

Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery.
