Paul Herbert “Bud” Forgey

Paul Herbert “Bud” Forgey, 99, Logansport, passed away Saturday evening, December 30, 2023, in his residence.

Born December 18, 1924, in Logansport, he was the son of the late Hugh and Ethel (Giffin) Forgey.

A 1944 graduate of Royal Center High School, Bud and his wife, Agnes (DeWitt) Forgey, were high school sweethearts. On May 11, 1947, in Logansport, the couple were united in holy matrimony. They celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary prior to Agnes’s passing on July 4, 2017.

Bud worked as a meter reader with NIPSCO for 32 years. Bud was a lifelong member of the Calvary Presbyterian Church. He volunteered with Meals on Wheels.

Bud’s family would like to thank the staff of Pleasant Hill, fellow residents and volunteers for filling his last years with love and fellowship, 

Surviving are three children: Randall (Jeananne) Forgey of West Lafayette, Jennifer (Rick) Canfield of Marietta, NY and Matthew Forgey of Plainfield; one sister, Joy Ellen Goltry, Logansport; and grandchildren, David (Aubrey) Canfield and Stuart (Vanessa) Canfield.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Donald Forgey.

A Memorial Service celebrating the life of Bud Forgey will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 20, 2024, in Fisher Funeral Chapel with Rev. Dr. Dan Lute officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery.
