Douglas Smith, 64, Peru, passed away Wednesday morning, February 7, 2024, in his home.
Born October 21, 1959, in Jasper County, Indiana, he was the son of Cline Joseph and Ina (Wireman) McClaeb.
Doug was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army Indiana National Guard in 1992 following sixteen years of service.
In 1978, he was married to Patricia Ann (Henry) Smith, who survives.
Doug was retired from Tube Fabrications in Logansport, where he had served as plant manager.
Surviving with his wife of 46 years, Patricia, is his mother and stepfather, Ina and Don McClaeb; two sons, David Smith, and Scott (Laura) Smith; his brother, Dennis Smith; two grandchildren, Dakota (Alyssa) Fred, and Aedan Smith; great-grandson, Marshall Neff and one on the way; and his father-in-law, Larry Ransford.
He was preceded in death by his father, Cline Joseph; stepfather, Dick Roller; one sister, Darlene Shields, and his mother-in-law, Linda Ransford.
Arrangements are pending.
