Kathy L. Hannah, 82, of Galveston went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ early Thursday, February 15, 2024. Kathy was born December 31, 1941, in Marion, Indiana. She was the daughter of Edwin and Madeline (Tilley) Wright. She married Stanley Hannah on October 14, 1962. He preceded her in death on November 7, 2022.
Kathy worked in her family’s business, Cardinal Variety Store in Galveston for many years as well as being a homemaker and mother. She enjoyed raising Poodles, sewing, playing the organ and accordion and singing with her dad Edwin Wright as he played the guitar in their church.
Surviving family include her children Stephen Hannah of Galveston; Bradley Hannah of Kokomo; and Jennifer (Johnie) Wireman of Sullivan. Surviving grandchildren are, Amber (Matt) Miller, Alyssa Crites, Tyler (Megan Hohenberger) Blackburn, Cameron Hannah, and Zachary Wireman. She is also survived by two great grandsons, Wyatt and Weston Miller and siblings, James Wirsing and Rosalie Middleton of North Manchester, IN. She was also recently reunited with her biological family. Preceding Kathy in death are her parents, and siblings, Linda Haines, Jean Kissinger, Junior Wirsing, Ronnie Wirsing and Margaret Lambert. The family would like to extend a special “Thank You” to Guardian Angel Hospice and nurse Angie for their special care of Kathy during her final days.
Funeral services are scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at Murray Weaver Funeral Home in Galveston with Pastor Gary Carpenter officiating. Visitation will take place from 11:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Wednesday also at the funeral home. Kathy will be laid to rest in Galveston Cemetery with her husband Stanley.
