Alice M. Stanton

Alice M. Stanton, 94, of Logansport passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2024 at home surrounded by family.

Born on July 29, 1929 in Carroll County, she was the daughter of the late Cloyd and Anna (Cohee) Seward.

She was a 1948 Deer Creek High School graduate.

On January 1, 1949 she married Clarence A. Stanton.  He preceded her in death on February 5, 2013.

Alice retired from General Tire in 1982.  She enjoyed reading, playing cards, wordsearch puzzles and watching basketball.

Survivors include her children, Harold Stanton (Becky) of Lucerne and JoEtta Wilson of Logansport, and grandchildren, Katrina Hancock, Tina Johnson, Tracy Bartak (Niki), Melissa Nixon (Eric), Dawn Gatliff (Mike) and C. David Tolson (Desiree).  She is also survived by 17 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by children, Clarence Stanton, Jr., Sharon Bartak and Clarice “CJ” Tolson, grandchildren, Danny Johnson and Matt Stanton, great granddaughter, Alexis Stanton and great great granddaughter, Kiayah Johnson.

A graveside service will be at 11:30 a.m., Thursday, March 7, 2024 at the Mt. Hope Cemetery Chapel with visitation one hour prior to the service.
