Bonnie Beth Rhody, 82, of Royal Center, passed away peacefully Sunday, March 17, 2024, at Miller’s Merry Manor in Logansport.

Born on February 7, 1942, in Goshen, Indiana, Bonnie is the daughter of the late Lawrence and Lillian “Snook” (Waling) Brandt. On December 8, 1962, in Royal Center, Bonnie married Jackie Lee Rhody who preceded in death on May 4, 2010.

Bonnie had worked as an administrative assistant for Knebel Insurance in Royal Center. She had also served two terms as the Royal Center Clerk Treasurer. Bonnie enjoyed watching Indiana Basketball. She and Jackie had spent several years at Lake Tippecanoe, and loved socializing, boating, fishing and playing cards.

As a family-oriented woman, Bonnie loved planning and hosting family holidays and parties. She was a member of the VFW Post 3790 Ladies Auxiliary and the Elkettes.

Surviving Bonnie are two daughters, Tracey Rhody of Royal Center, IN, Michelle “Shelly” (Vearl) Turnpaugh of Bringhurst, IN; granddaughter, Alisha (Jef) Maslan of Wabash, IN; two grandsons, Zachary (Kristin) Turnpaugh of Madill, OK, Tanner Turnpaugh of Bringhurst, IN; great granddaughter, Amelia Beth Turnpaugh of Madill, OK; sister, Deenie (Jim) Miltenberger of Middlebury, IN; several nieces and nephews; two sister in laws, Shirley Rhody of Hobart, IN, Sandy Rhody of Las Vegas, NV.

Bonnie was preceded in death by two brothers, Larry Brandt and Kenton Brandt.

A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at Gundrum Funeral Home with grandson, Pastor Zachary Turnpaugh officiating. Burial will follow in the Royal CenterCemetery, Royal Center.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service on Wednesday.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
