Joan A. (McMillen) McIntosh

Joan Aileen (McMillen) McIntosh, 89 passed away peacefully at 4:30 a.m. on Easter Sunday, March 31st, 2024.

Joan, born December 29th, 1934 of the late Russell and Madeline (Billman) McMillen, was a lifelong resident of Logansport, Indiana. She grew up on a farm west of town on Delaware Road. After graduating from Logansport High School, she married Daniel T. McIntosh, her husband of 44 years, on June 30th, 1956 at the Baptist Temple.

Joan was dedicated to her faith in God and served as a pillar of kindness for the community. She always put the happiness of her children and family first, and was especially gifted at being a foster mom. Her compassion extended to many neighbors, and she always offered a welcoming home and an invigorating meal. Having worked at Golden Rule, Cory & Cory, W.T. Grant, WSAL, and Peak Community Services, she even helped counsel her neighbors at Miller’s Merry Manor.

Joan is preceded in death by her husband Daniel (March 14th, 2001) and her brothers Richard, Robert, Billie and Donald. She leaves behind sons Thomas (Theresa) McIntosh -Logansport, Tim (Sumie) McIntosh -Lafayette and one daughter Jill (Jim) Beall -Twelve Mile. Grandchildren are Erica (Jesse) Rude, Derrick (Rachael Brinegar) McIntosh, Brandon McIntosh, John (Abby) Beall, Michael (Sonja) Beall, Russell (Erin) McIntosh and Andy (Amanda Lim) McIntosh. Great grandchildren are Hunter Taylor, Ava Taylor, Olivia Rude and Mavis Beall.

A celebration of life will be held at Noon on Thursday, April 4, 2024, in the Gundrum Funeral Home with Pastor Cole Westwood officiating.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Thursday.

The family would like to thank Miller’s Merry Manor for their great care. Memorial contributions can be made to any breast cancer charity. Visitation will be on…with service to follow.
