Barbara “Barb” Ann Burrous, 73, of Logansport, Indiana, passed away Thursday afternoon, May 23, 2024, in the comfort of her home with her family by her side following a diagnosis of ovarian cancer just two weeks ago.
Born March 22, 1951, in Logansport, she was the daughter of the James M. and Helen J. (Hinkle) Jackson.
On August 6, 1969, in Logansport, she was married to Paul W. Burrous Jr. who preceded her in death, in 2003. Following her husband’s passing, Barb was reunited with Mike Haugh at their High School class reunion. They spent to the next twenty years together.
A 1969 graduate of Logansport High School, Barb worked as a teacher’s aide for many years at Landis Elementary School, prior to her time at Landis Barb worked at Tipton Elementary.
Barb found joy in traveling and exploring new destinations over the years. She was very creative through crafting and refinished many pieces of furniture. Barb enjoyed getting her hands dirty tending to her flourishing garden and most importantly, surrounding herself with the warmth and laughter of her beloved family and friends.
She is survived by her companion, Mike Haugh; her daughter, Amy (Jeff) Roth; her son, Paul J. (Katie) Burrous; grandchildren, Sam Roth, Elena Roth, Dylan Burrous and Kelsey Burrous; sister, Linda (Steve) Huntley; sisters-in-law, Debbie (Larry) Baker, Gwen Jackson, and Dianne (Don) Range; step grandchildren, Hudson, Hayden and Sydney Akers; step great grandchild, Nash Akers, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and her parents, Barb was preceded in death by step parents, Dorothy Jackson and Neil Grubb, two brothers, Gary Jackson and Jim Jackson, and one sister-in-law, Linda Burrous Martin.
A visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at Fisher Funeral Chapel.
A private graveside service at the Walton IOOF Cemetery will be at a later date.
