Barry Allen May, 69, of Logansport, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at Woodbridge Health Campus.

Barry was born December 16, 1954 in Knox, Indiana to the late Joseph May and Mary (Sayler) May Cottrell.

He was a 1972 graduate of Kouts High School. After graduating high school, Barry proudly served his country in the United States Navy. Barry worked in Nuclear Electronics during his time in the Navy.

Barry was blessed with many who loved him.

Barry met Maria Natividad “Nattie” May Quezada while attending a Derby in Juarez, Mexico where Nattie worked. They were married in 1985. Although Nattie and Barry later parted ways; their marriage blessed them with three children, Adrian Sanchez and his wife Flora of Logansport, Michelle May of Memphis, TN, and youngest Kim May and her fiancé Jacob Fisher of Logansport.

Barry was later gifted with two grandchildren Isaac and Alaina Sanchez.

In 1995, Barry and his family moved to Logansport to be closer to his mother. With Nattie’s blessing, this is where Barry planted roots for him and his family.

Barry was an entrepreneur, he worked as a gold and silver salesman. He and Nattie had their start in California where Barry continued his career in El Paso, TX and in Logansport, IN. He also worked in the food industry as delivery man for Papa John’s Pizza.

Barry didn’t want to dedicate his life to a career; he preferred to spend his time with family and friends and working on hobbies like, gardening, coin collecting, playing the slots at the casino, listening to music and watching movies.

Along with his children and grandchildren, Barry is survived by brothers, Roger (Helen) May, Gordon (Kathy) May, and his sister, Debby May.

He was preceded in death by a brother Danny May.

A funeral service celebrating the life of Barry will be held 3:30 p.m. Friday, May 17, 2024, at Fisher Funeral Chapel.

Visitation will be held from noon until the time of the service on Friday.

Burial with full military rites will be at Mount Hope Cemetery.
