Erika enjoyed going to the state fair with her friends, watching Hallmark movies, watching softball games, Kansas State football and Purdue basketball. Even though she had moved away from Indiana, she continued to stay in touch with her close friends and enjoyed visits with them. She spent her days in Texas hanging out with her pride and joy, her granddaughter, Taryn. They liked to watch movies, read books and play games.

She is survived by her two daughters, Tammi Boozer (Brad), Shallowater, Texas, and Mindy Hoffman, Manhattan, Kansas; granddaughter, Taryn Boozer, Shallowater, Texas; Aunt Jane LaDuct, Logansport; sister-in-law, Lana Gibson (Kenny), Lafayette; niece, Donia Webb (Josh) and great-niece, Kaia Webb, Romney; her favorite cousin, Pam Kirby (Doug), Underwood; and several cousins.

Erika’s last selfless act was willing her body to science.

A celebration of life to honor her will be held on May 25, 2024, 11:00 a.m., at Royal Center United Methodist Church. Her final resting place will be next to her husband at Ever-Rest Memorial Park, Cass County Indiana.
