George J. “Jerry” Harness, 84, of Walton, Indiana passed away in his residence on Monday, May 27, 2024, surrounded by his family.

Born on May 7, 1940, in Deacon, Jerry is the son of the late Herbert E. and Violet Delight (Campbell) Harness. On August 31, 1974, in Walton, Jerry married Marcia A. Shaff who survives.

Jerry retired as a truck driver from USF HOLLAND. He enjoyed watching IU basketball and spending time with family and friends.

Surviving Jerry, along with his wife Marcia are four daughters, Jennifer (Lon) McAllister of Katy, TX; Tracy (Rob Horvath) Wolf of Ann Arbor MI; Jill Harness of Hewitt, TX; Bridget (Adam) Guzowski of Indianapolis, IN; daughter-in-law, Deanna L. Wolf of Logansport, IN; Three Half Sisters, Pat Sills of Flint, MI; Alice Fawley of Alsip, IL; Sandy Richardson of Snohomish, WA; thirteen grandchildren, Mark (Catrina) McAllister, Jessica McAllister, Garrett McAllister, Meghan (Sean) Carlson, Briana (William) VanVreede, Caity (Garett) Harvey, Amanda Taylor, Lauren (Tanner) Foster, McKenna (Jared Ehase) Wolf of Logansport, IN; Landon Wolf of Logansport, IN; Griffin Wolf of Logansport, IN; Ava Guzowski, Lincoln Guzowski; thirteen great grandchildren, Fiona, Paige and Graham McAllister, Charlotte, Madeline, Quinn and Nolan Carlson, Nicholas, Ethan and Brendan VanVreede, Maysen and Blakely Harvey, William Foster, several special nieces and nephews.

Jerry was preceded in death by father, Herbert E. Harness; mother, Violet Delight Harness; son, Brian L. Wolf; sister, Jane Beck; half-brother, Timothy Richardson.

A celebration of life will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, June 1, 2024, in the Gundrum Funeral Home with Rev. Bruce Russell officiating. A burial will follow at Ever-Rest Memorial Park in Logansport.

Visitation will be held from 4:00PM to 7:00PM on Friday, May 31, 2024, in the funeral home.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Cass County Special Olympics.
