Nancy Sue Keiser, 88, of Bloomington, Indiana, peacefully went to be with Jesus and reunited with loved ones, on Sunday, May 12, 2024, at Gentry Park Senior Living.

Born on February 19, 1936, in Huntington, Indiana, she was the firstborn of Eldon and Kathryn (Schultz) Hosler.

Nancy was a 1954 graduate of Union Center High School, in Huntington county Indiana, where she graduated with honors. Nancy met Rex Keiser during a hayride which proved to both they were meant to be together. On August 22, 1954, at the St. Peter Evangelical & Reformed Church in Huntington, Nancy and Rex were married.

After their wedding, Nancy was employed by the phone company until 1957 when she joined Rex, who served in the U.S. Army, in Germany. After he was discharged, the couple returned to Huntington and began raising their children.   In 1969, the family relocated to Royal Center, Indiana. While there Nancy worked in the Cass County Clerk’s office and making curtains at Della’s Draperies. She was active socially with the Home Ec extension, Daughters of the American Revolution and with their church.   Nancy was proud to have helped all four of their children through Pioneer High School.  Her family are also proud of her for the constant love and support she always gave each of them.   Later in life Nancy resided in Vero Beach, Florida, prior to their final move to Alabama, and ultimately her settling in Bloomington, IN.

An active member of the Nazarene Churches in the communities where Nancy resided, she supported  many of the Missionary Societies as an active church leader.  Nancy had a special way of promoting the reading of missionary books with congregations by baking cookies for readers who completed their goals. This led to many busy days in her kitchen baking a dozen (and often many more) of some reader’s favorite kind of cookie.

The couple had four children, all who survive, including Tim (Jan) Keiser (Livingston, TX), Jeff (Dawn) Keiser (Ankeny, IA), Cindi (Dave Roten) Pond (Morgantown, IN), and Andy (Susie) Keiser (Rochester, IN).  They also have five grandchildren – Aaron Keiser, Jason (Amy) Keiser, Blake (Liz) Keiser, Amber (Matt) Fjelland, and Samantha (Michael) Strantz.  Nancy also has 15 great grandchildren.

Surviving, are Nancy’s sister, Jane (Bob) Patterson (Ray Twp, MI), brother, Tom (Bonnie) Hosler (Huntington, IN), and sister-in-law, Ginny Hosler (Peoria, IL).   Nancy was preceded in death by Rex, her mother and father, and one brother, Jerry Hosler.

The Family wish to express their sincere and grateful thanks for the excellent care of their loved one at Gentry Park Senior Living.

Plans for a celebration of life gathering are pending.  Arrangements are being made through Rans Funeral Home (Royal Center, IN).
