Charles L. “Chuck” Shepard, 60, of Logansport, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly at 2:04 a.m. Friday, June 7, 2024, in the emergency room of Logansport Memorial Hospital after suffering a heart attack.

Born August 17, 1963, in Brook, Indiana, he was the son of the late Bill C. and Harlene K. (Hanson) Shepard.

On February 14, 2001, in Logansport, he was married to Kathy (Kaley) Shepard, who survives.

Since 1988, Chuck served as the manager of the Logansport Rent-A-Center. He loved his work family and the many clients who became friends over the years.

Chuck attended Logansport Church. He was an avid Chicago Bears fan. Chuck’s priorities in life were simple yet profound – he loved Jesus and his family beyond measure. As a lasting gift, Chuck was an organ donor. 

Surviving with his wife are his sons, Ryan Shepard, Logansport, Brad (Kayla) Powell, Panama City, Florida, and Eric (Dana) Powell, Evansville; his son Ryan’s mother, Deandra Price Shepard, Logansport; his sister, Donna (John) Mills, New Carlisle; brothers-in-law, Virgil (Judy) Kaley, Logansport, and Nate (Jen) Kaley, Tennessee; ten grandchildren; one great-grandson; several nieces and nephews; and a special family they “adopted” Emmy, Tom, Tommy & Tony. Tony recently drew Papa Chuck a picture saying, “You’re my hero.”

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife’s parents, Virgil and Anna Kaley.

Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, June 11 in Fisher Funeral Chapel. followed by a funeral service celebrating Chuck’s life at 7 p.m. with Pastor Matt Prifogle officiating.  The Indiana Donor Network will hold a memorial ceremony at the start of the service. 

Burial, at a later date, will be in Culver Cemetery.
