Emerson Walter McCall

Emerson Walter McCall, age 85, Converse, passed away at 8:20 p.m. Thursday, May 30th, 2024, in his residence.
Born March 29, 1939, in Logansport, he was the son of Walter S. and Dorothy Mae Emery McCall.
He was married to Patricia Weirick McCall, who preceded him in death on January 21, 2023.
Emerson was a United States Navy veteran. He retired at the age of sixty-five as an electrician from Chrysler Corporation.
In earlier years, he enjoyed Motor Cross racing, where he received several trophies. He continued to ride motorcycles throughout his life. He and his wife, Pat, made several trips by bike throughout the United States.
Emerson had been a K-9 trainer of German Shepherds, with his favorite dog being “Chum”. He raised and owned Arabian Show Horses, with championships in both the US and Canada.
Emerson was known for having a good sense of humor, he enjoyed mushroom hunting, and loved watching all the old “black and white” Westerns (many times over) with John Wayne being his favorite.
He liked to work outside and “puttering” in his garage with the many things he had collected over the years.
He and his wife had been member of Walnut Hill Baptist Church in Ewing, Virginia, prior to moving back to Indiana.
Surviving are daughters, Tammy (Tim) Shrock, Amboy; Michelle Burton (Jim Doheny), Des Plaines, IL; Crissi (Brad) McGuire, Peru; grandchildren, Joey Shrock, Nathan (Melissa) Shrock, Abby Shrock, Jeremy Burton (fiancé, Brianna), Alexandra Burton, and Tyler McGuire; great grandson, Levi Shrock.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a sister, Pamela McCall.
The funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday, June 3rd, at Kroeger-Crain Funeral Home, 711 East Market Street, Logansport. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral.
Interment will be in Ever-Rest Memorial Park.
