Max Goodspeed

Max Goodspeed, 89, Phoenix, Arizona,has made one final trip. He has gone to heaven . He is having a reunion with his wife, Shirley. The Goodspeed family would like to thank all of their fiends who have prayed for Max and Shirley throughout this difficult time.
Born August 29, 1934, in Bluffton, IN, he was the son of the late Paul and Laura Goodspeed.
On July 4, 1974, he was married to Shirley Goodspeed. She preceded him in death May 29, 2024.
Max and Shirley resided in Aurora, IN much of their early life together raising their family. Shirley was a homemaker and Max was an owner operator truck driver for 37 years. Upon retirement they traveled to all the United States that they had not yet visited. They retired to Zephyrhills, FL and finally to Phoenix, AZ.
God -Family – Country, Max was a man of good character who worked hard to provide for his family. He and his wife, Shirley, were longtime members of the Shiloh United Methodist Church in Kokomo. Max was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army Indiana National Guard. He was also a 47-year-member of the Kosciusko Masonic Lodge.
Max and Shirley have three children: Stephen Goodspeed (Judy), Brenda Johnson (John), and Michael W. Goodspeed (Tonya). 9 grandchildren: Michaela Cardwell, Jenna Daniel, Jessica Goodspeed, John Johnson, James Johnson, Michael Goodspeed, Matthew Goodspeed, Raleigh Brown and Savannah Brown; and 2 great grandchildren: Wesley and Oliver Goodspeed.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings: Vaughn Goodspeed (Betty), Kenneth Goodspeed, Robert Goodspeed (Mary), and Mildred Martin (Claude).
Max and Shirley enjoyed 69 years together in marriage. It is fitting that we celebrate them together in death at a double service at Church of The Good Shepherd, 800 E Broadway, Logansport, at 11 a.m. Friday, June 28th with Pastor Doug Thomas officiating.
Visitation from 9 to 11 am. prior to the service.
Burial will be at a later date.
