Donald L. Frye, 93, of Logansport, Indiana, passed away Thursday, July 4, 2024, at his home.

Born May 26, 1931, in Lockport, Indiana, he was the son of the late Alexander and Isabelle (Shaffer) Frye.

On March 30, 1949, in Burnettsville, he was married to Shirley (Mason) Frye, who preceded him in death November 7, 1982.

He later married Bonnie E. (Conklin) Frye on March 16, 1983, in Logansport. She preceded him in death August 25, 1993.

Don was a 1948 graduate of Adams Township High School near Lockport. He started working for the Pennsylvania Railroad and was forced to retire from ConRail at age 48 from injuries he had suffered in a train wreck. He had served as a conductor for many years. Don was a loyal Chicago Cubs fan.

He is survived by two sons, Terry (Carol) Frye, Sweetwater, Texas, and Larry Frye, Logansport; five grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

In addition to his parents and wives, he was preceded in death by three brothers, five sisters, and his daughter-in-law, Linda Frye.

Friends will be received from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Thursday, July 11, at Fisher Funeral Chapel, where the service will be held at 1 p.m.

Burial will follow in Seceder (Cedarville) Cemetery, south of Burnettsville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Seceder Cemetery Association.
