Susie Q. Maggart, 67, of Rochester, Indiana, passed away Friday, July 12, 2024, in the Lutheran Hospital of Fort Wayne.

On September 6, 1981, she was married to Larry David Maggart, who survives.

Susie was a 1975 graduate of Logansport High School.

A homemaker, Susie loved her family beyond measure. She had a loving heart and would do anything for anybody. Susie was a devoted member of The Cross in Rochester and her love for Jesus gave her strength for every health challenge she faced. It is no secret that Easter was her favorite holiday, not only for the fun involved in getting the family together for a good meal and a big egg hunt, but for the meaning of Resurrection Sunday. She was definitely an “Easter person.”

Surviving with her husband of nearly 43 years are two sons, Tim (Erika) Malott, and Johnny Malott; two daughters, Leslie Mest and Debbie (Jerry) Gust; grandchildren, Bayleigh Malott, Chelsie Malott, Morgen Martin, Nickaless Malott, Randee Malott, Starlene (Jesse) Chandler, Natasha Williams and Brittany (Jake) Telfer; great-grandchildren, Renesmae, Zoey, Liam, Braysen, Alexia, Elaina, Kaylie, Luke and Wyatt; one brother, Ed Winegardner; six sisters, Edith (Larry) Isley, Jo (Fred) Boehme, Betsy Winegardner – her twin sister, Teresia (Mike) Ross, Georgia (Joe) Mantle, and Nancy (Joe) Chanley; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family members, including her church family.

Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, July 16, in Fisher Funeral Chapel, Logansport.

A funeral service celebrating Susie’s life will take place at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 17, in Fisher Funeral Chapel with Pastor Martin Furrow officiating.

Burial will follow in the Mount Carmel Cemetery, Twelve Mile, Indiana.
