Don V. Wilson, 79, of Conroe, Texas, formerly of Logansport, Indiana, passed away Monday morning, August 5, 2024, surrounded by his family.
Born April 10, 1945, in Greensburg, Indiana, he was the only child of the late Floyd and Lucille (Bostic) Wilson.
On September 18, 1971, in Greensburg, Indiana, he was married to Fannie Collins Wilson. She preceded him in death May 11, 2019.
Don earned his Associates of Science from the University of Indianapolis. He was retired from an illustrious career in the manufacturing industry where he had worked in operations management for over 40 years. Lean manufacturing was Don’s passion, throughout his career he spent time working with several companies such as Guardian Automotive, TI Group, and Federal Mogul. Don and his wife, Fannie, moved to Logansport in 1988 when Switches was acquired by Federal Mogul. Aside from work, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was a lifelong fan of Indiana basketball, a golfer, a parrothead, and a true Disney fanatic. He was never happier than his time that was spent with his family at Walt Disney World.
Surviving are two children and their spouses, Shana and Brad Duerr, of The Woodlands, Texas and Travis and Katie Wilson, of Fishers; five grandchildren, Sadie and Olivia Duerr, and Hallie, Grant, and Wells Wilson, and beloved canine members of the family, Lady, Bailey, Georgia, and Lexi.
He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Charlotte Duerr, his brother-in-law, Ray Collins, and his sweet canine companion, Daisy.
A visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, August 10, 2024 in Fisher Funeral Chapel, Logansport, Indiana.
A funeral service celebrating Don’s life will follow at 1 p.m. Saturday, in the funeral chapel, with his daughter, Shana Duerr officiating.
He will be laid to rest beside his beloved wife in the Mount Hope Cemetery in Logansport.
