Services for Elizabeth Ann “Liz” LeMond, 67, Logansport, will be at 10 a.m. Monday in the Mount Hope Cemetery Chapel. She died at 11:45 p.m. August 14th at IU Health, Lafayette, following a brief stay.
Born June 26, 1957, in Indianapolis, she was the daughter of Ed and Judith Ann Holtman Mannix. On Jan. 4, 1992, she was married in Beech Grove to Bruce LeMond, the love of her life, who preceded her in death. He preceded her in death on Aug. 26, 2023.
For many years, she was a librarian at Crossroads Bible College, Indianapolis. She also taught college classes in Biblical studies. She was a voracious reader, to understate her love of reading and books. The LeMonds traveled throughout Europe. They spent most of their marriage in Lawrence, where her husband was employed at Fort Benjamin Harrison.
They moved to Logansport in 2017 to be closer to their family. Following a period when they resided in assisted living at Woodbridge Health Campus, Bruce passed away and she returned to their home, spending the remainder of her life in the care of her family.
Liz most likely had the largest personal library on Logansport’s south side since the late Sen. Horace P. Biddle amassed the largest library in the state at his home on Biddle’s Island. She was an avid stamp collector, and loved cats. Both pastimes were evident in her reading collection along with histories and biographies. She was a member of a philatelist society. An Indiana University graduate, she had been working on her Ph.D.
She was a devout Christian who was a faithful servant and briefly attended Hillcrest Baptist Church. During her years in Logansport, she became an avid fan of Logansport High School basketball and sat courtside in the Berry Bowl to watch her niece and nephew, Goldie and Max, and also frequented McHale Performing Arts Center to see performances by her niece, Hannah.
Surviving are her sister-in-law, Susan (Brad) Gray, Logansport; her brother-in-law, John “Doug”(Bonita) Warrum, Russiaville; her nieces, Julie (Dave) Kitchell and Jana Plummer, Logansport; and Natalie Warrum, formerly of Russiaville; one nephew, Bradley Warrum, Westfield; great nieces, Golda and Minnie Kitchell, and Hannah Gross, all of Logansport; great nephews, Max Kitchell and Jason Brown, Logansport; Mike and Brenda Henagain, Indianapolis; several half brothers and sisters; and the last of many beloved feline companions, Smudge.
One brother and one sister also preceded her in death.
Dave Kitchell will present a eulogy at the funeral.
Memorial contributions may be made to A Cause for Paws.
