Jon Robert Schirm, Sr.,

Jon Robert Schirm, Sr., 72 of Logansport, passed away Thursday morning, August 15, 2024, at home, with his family close by, following a courageous battle with cancer.

Born July 1, 1952, in Logansport, Indiana, he was the son of the late Robert and Barbara (Grady) Schirm.

On August 30, 1991, at Spring Creek Christian Church, he was married to Cynthia Ann (Polen) Schirm, who survives.

Jon was a 1971 graduate of Logansport High School; he furthered his education at Indiana State University – obtaining his Bachelor of Science degree in 1975.

For two years, Jon taught auto mechanics at Kokomo High School. He switched careers to join the team at NIPSCO as an operations manager for the next 29 years, retiring December 31, 2010.

Jon loved tinkering around in his garage and working on his Jeeps’ and Scout.

Surviving with his wife of nearly 33 years, Cindy Schirm, are sons, Jon Jr. (Veronica) Schirm, Lafayette, and Jacob (Tasha) Schirm, Royal Center; three daughters, Sarah (Joe) Maloy, Logansport, Brandy (Buck) Myers, and Kellie (Matt) Beegly, all of Royal Center; nine grandchildren, Madison Temple, Alaina Schirm, Aiden Schirm, Jackson Temple, Josh Middleton, Kaiden Schirm, Asher Schirm, Pasli Winn, and Hazel Schirm; one great grandchild, Payton Willison; one sister; and one brother.

He was preceded in death by his son, Josh Schirm.

Jon’s wishes are being honored and no service will be held.
