Arthur W. “Art” Sutton, Jr., 79, Logansport, passed away September 16, 2024, at the Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.

Born June 20, 1945, in Cincinnati, Ohio, he was the son of the late Arthur W. and Pearl (Johnson) Sutton, Sr.

On November 25, 1988, he was married to Sherry D. (Moncel) Sutton who preceded him in death on November 9, 2021.

A 1964 graduate of Lewis Cass High School, Art went on to serve in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War.

For over 42 years, Art was employed at Rockwell/Matthew Warren.

He was a member of the Revolution Church, the Royal Center Masonic Lodge and the American Legion Post 60. An outdoors enthusiast, Art leaves behind many fishing and camping memories. He was always up for a good game of Euchre, and he could outlast anyone on the dance floor. 

 Art leaves behind the gift of life as a tissue and organ donor with the Indiana Donate Life program.

Surviving are his children, Melissa (Chad) Smith, Peru, Howard (LeeAnn) Schmock, Wisconsin, and Steve (Diana) Sutton, Logansport; one sister, Sylvia Coppernoll, Logansport; fourteen grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Amy Sutton; and one brother, David Sutton.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, September 21 in Fisher Funeral Chapel where military honors will be conducted at 5 p.m. The funeral service celebrating Art’s life will follow with Chad Smith officiating.

Burial, at a later date, will be in the Veterans National Cemetery.
