Daniel E. Boocher, 79 of Logansport, passed away early Saturday morning, September 21, 2024, in Miller’s Merry Manor. He died unexpectedly following a brief illness.
Born April 1, 1945, in Logansport, he was the son of Robert Kerns and Glenna Juanita (Jenn) Kerns.
On September 16, 1967, in Kewanna, he was married to Connie (Miller) Boocher. She proceeded him in death December 1, 2006.
Dan served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Pyro ammunition ship during the Vietnam War.
A 33rd Degree Mason, he was a past master of the Logansport Tipton Masonic Lodge No. 33 and a member of the Fort Wayne Valley of the Scottish Rite.
Dan enjoyed golfing and fishing. He loved the warmer climates. Sebring, Florida was his winter home for many years.
He is survived by his fiancée, Brenda Thompson, Logansport, his son, Dan R. (Deb) Boocher, West Lafayette; grandsons, Jacob Boocher & Nathan (Kelly) Boocher; granddaughter, Megan Boocher; brother, Robert Kerns; sister, Patricia (Tom) Haab; sister Terri Rutt.
In addition to his wife and parents, was preceded in death by brothers; Jerry Kerns and Tom Kerns; sister; Sandra Paquin.
Visitation hours will be from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Wednesday, September 24, 2024, in Fisher Funeral Chapel. At 1 p.m. the Masonic Lodge will conduct a memorial service which will be followed by a funeral service celebrating Dan’s life. Dawn Fisher will officiate the service.
Interment, with full military honors, will follow in the Mount Hope Cemetery.
