Evelyn “Kay” Stuart, 76, of Logansport, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2024, at home surrounded by her family.
Born January 1, 1948, in Peru, IN, she was the daughter of the late Woodrow G. and Mildred May (Howard) Bowman.
On December 21, 1985, in the former 9th Street Christian Church, she was married to Duane Stuart, who survives.
Kay received her business degree from Indiana University – Kokomo and had worked as an accountant with Matthew-Warren. She retired early to become a stay-at-home mom.
Kay loved the outdoors. Over the years, she enjoyed camping, hiking, bicycling, skiing, golf and tending her flowers.
Kay also enjoyed supporting Tricia and Clayton in all of their school and church activities as well as Scouts, Junior Civic Theater, Logansport Children’s Choir, and sports. She loved being a mom.
Surviving are her husband of nearly 39 years, Duane Stuart are her son, Clayton Stuart, of Chicago, her daughter, Trisha Spencer, of Pinellas Park, Florida; brother, Stanley (Nancy) Bowman, Royal Center; and grandchildren, Jacob Spencer and Ashylnn Spencer. She was also very close to her nieces, Cindy Bowman, Royal Center, Marcie Perry, Star City, and Tammy Durbin, Culver.
A visitation will be held from 3 – 6 p.m. Sunday, September 15 in Fisher Funeral Chapel.
A Funeral Service celebrating Kay’s life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 16 in the funeral chapel with Dawn Fisher officiating.
Burial will follow in Ever-Rest Memorial Park.
