Katheryn Ann “Kathy” Michael, age 77, Logansport, passed away Sunday, September 8, 2024, in her residence. For over a year, Kathy fought a courageous battle with cancer and died in the loving presence of the Lord, surrounded by her family.

Born September 5, 1947, in Logansport, she was the daughter of Clarence Raymond Ervin and Ruthalene Katheryn Gotshall Ervin.

Kathy was married July 28, 1982, in Peru, to Curtis Michael, who preceded in death August 17, 2006.

She later professed her vows of marriage to Leonard Overly, who preceded her in death.

Kathy graduated from Logansport High School in 1965. She attended St. Joseph’s School in Logansport.

During her lifetime, she had been employed at several places, The Burger Barn, Memorial Hospital, Walmart and Area 5.

She was a member of Main Street Community Church and the Red Hat Society. She loved karaoke, weekly luncheons with the girls, traveling to Florida in the winter, flea markets, crossword puzzles, and rock painting.

Kathy was a life member of the VFW Post 3790 Auxiliary. 

Surviving is a daughter, Robyn Fritchey (Jason), Urbana; brothers, Robert “Rae” (Monica) Ervin, Jeffrey “Jay” (Lora Emmerd) Ervin, Todd (Lisa) Ervin; grandson, Jacob Bilvin (Ed Rardin), Joshua Bolinger (Jessica).

Stepdaughter, Ellamae Bell (Al); stepson, Curtis Michael (Robin), stepdaughters, Inga Overly, Andy Abney (Jody).

Step grandchildren, Maggie Michael, Lindzey Jackson, Tasha Veliz, Kamoryn Keeflar, and several other step-grandchildren; step great grandchildren, Aurora Bolinger, Maya Bolinger, and several others as well.

Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 14th, at Kroeger-Crain Funeral Home.

The funeral service and Celebration of Life will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, also at Kroeger-Crain Funeral Home, with Pastor Doug Thomas officiating.

Burial will be in Ever-Rest Memorial Park.

Memorial contributions in Kathy’s memory may be made to the American Cancer Society or Main Street Community Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
