Chris Allen Wilson, 63 of Logansport, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday morning, October 9, 2024, in the emergency room at Logansport Memorial Hospital.

Born June 23, 1961, in Logansport, he was the son of Russell “Jack” and Betty (Maple) Wilson.

A 1979 graduate of Logansport High School, Chris furthered his education at Ivy Tech Community College where he earned an Associate of Science degree in accounting. For many years, he managed the Jackson-Hewitt in Logansport.

Chris served as the maintenance supervisor for the Lewis Cass High School for the past ten years. He was very loved by the students who called him “Uncle Grandpa” or Grandpa Lewis Cass.”

Chris was a member of the Cross~Wind United Methodist Church. He loved sports of all kinds. Chris was a HUGE Purdue an and had enjoyed season tickets with his son for the past 15 football seasons. He was also a loyal fan of the Chicago Bears. But the love he had for his grandkids ranked higher than any team franchise, “Poppi” never missed one of their games, events or school activities. At Christmas, he was the Santa Claus, donning the complete outfit. He crafted homemade gifts for each grandchild. Over the years, Chris had developed a special handshake for each grandchild and every niece and nephew.

Surviving is his mother, Betty Wilson, of Logansport; his children, Curtis (Sarah) Wilson, and Courtni (John) Wicker, all of Logansport; his grandchildren, Christian, Jackson, Chloe and Janna Wicker, and Anniston and Emilia Wilson; his siblings Scott (Shawna) Wilson, Logansport, Lori (Craig) Gales, Bend, Oregon, Jackie Troglen, Indianapolis, and Kelley (Jon) Law, Vancouver, WA; and several nieces and nephews as well as great-nieces and great nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jack Wilson, and baby daughter, Jessica Ann Wilson.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, October 14 at the Fisher Funeral Chapel.

A funeral service celebrating the life of Chris Wilson will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 15 in the funeral chapel with Pastor Tim Powers officiating.

Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery.
