Richard “Rick” Watson

Richard “Rick” Watson, 77,Logansport, Indiana, passed away October 16, 2024, in St. Francescan East Hospital, Lafayette.
Born June 15, 1947, in Joliet, Illinois. he was the son of the late Lou Olive Watson.
He was married to Donna (Smith) Watson, who survives.
Following high school, Rick enlisted in the United States Army and served during the Vietnam War. His bravery and efforts in the face of danger were reward with the Purple Heart medal and a Bronze Star. Rick was a patriot and proud to be a veteran.
Rick received certification in plumbing and owned and operated his own business, Watson Plumbing Service, for over 50 years. He took great pride in the service he provided and made lifelong friends who patronized his business.
Rick was a collector of old cars. He also had a soft spot for dogs, making sure they had a good home and were well-loved.
Surviving with his wife, Donna, are their children, Shannon (John) Hudkins, Donnie Lee (Katie) Bellanca, Stacey (Charles) Nolen and Chad Bellanca; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who he adored.
A private visitation and service will be held for the family.
Burial, with military honors, will be in Legion Square at Mount Hope Cemetery.
