William O. “Bill” Kumler, age 86, Logansport passed away unexpectedly Friday evening, October 11th, at his residence.

Born in Logansport August 5, 1938, he was the son of Max and Betty Heppe Kumler.

On January 28, 1961, he was married to Delores “Dee” Stoops, who passed away May 9, 2005. He was married October 13, 2005, to Rose Ann Sickman, who survives.

A 1956 graduate of Logansport High School, Bill then enlisted and served as a Medic in the United States Army.

Bill was a Union Carpenter for over 60 years, Construction Manager for Construction Control, and Architectural Rep for Clinton R. W. & Associates, Inc.

He enjoyed fishing and hunting. Bill and Rose Ann were “regulars” at Bullshippers Cafe. He was proud to be a 50-year member of AA. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren’s ball games and other events.

In earlier years, Bill and Dee Kumler operated the concession stands at France Park.

Bill loved dogs and leaves behind “Brownie”, who is grieving him terribly.

In addition to his wife, surviving are his children, Edra Taylor (Duane), John Kumler, and Teresa Qualls (Gordon); step children, Don Eller, Jr. (Sheryl), Mary Pratt, John Eller (Alicia), Carla Thomas (Steve), and Dawn Harmon (Cory); brother-in-law, Rick Stoops (Mardel), and daughter-in-law, Missy Warner.

Also surviving are twenty-one grandchildren, and a number of great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; nieces and nephews, Mikel and Pam Stoops, Kelly Tierney and Joni and Tim Lambert.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Jimmy and Mark, and a sister and brother-in-law, Susie and Jim Selvio.

Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 16th, and Thursday from 12 noon to 1:00 p.m., also at the funeral home.

The funeral service and celebration of Bill’s life is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Thursday, October 17th, at Kroeger-Crain Funeral Home. Burial, with full military honors, will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
