Boon Kin “Joe” Lee; beloved husband of Pui Kan Chu Lee; loving father of Sharon (Shawn) Bailey, Christina (Michael) Gung, Tiffany (Alan) Deng, Jonathan Lee and Derrick Lee; cherished grandfather of Owen, Norah, Jalen, Kalia, Lily, Ella and Jett; devoted brother and uncle of many.
Boon “Joe” was the longtime owner of China Lane Restaurant in Logansport, IN.
Visitation Tuesday, November 26th 10 a.m. until time of Funeral Service 12 p.m. at Dalcamo Funeral Home in Chicago. Interment Mt. Auburn Cemetery.
Joe was born in Guangdong, China. He spent his childhood in Hong Kong. In 1966, he immigrated to the United States and resided in Chicago, IL. In 1986, at the age of the 36, he started his own restaurant, China Lane in Logansport, IN. He was a successful restaurant owner for 27 years, creating a beloved establishment that became a cherished place for many. His dedication and hardworking spirit was evident to all.
In his spare time, he enjoyed tending to his plants, going to the casinos, and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed his retirement by traveling the world with his wife of 48 years, Kan. Joe had a love for adventure, often finding joy in exploring new places and cultures. His passion for food and travel brought him immense happiness.
Above all, Joe was a family man. He took great pride in his children and grandchildren. His deep sense of love and commitment to his family will never be forgotten.
Joe’s generous and loving spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched. He will be greatly missed.
