John P. Kistler

John P. Kistler, 55 of Star City, Indiana, passed away Thursday morning, November 14, 2024, at Parkview Haven Retirement Village, Francesville, Indiana.

Born December 22, 1968, in Fort Myers, FL, son of the late Stephen P. Kistler and Brenda (Hyer) Hayes.

On October 19, 2009, in Pulaski County, he was married to Sherry (Grogan) Kistler, who survives.

John worked as a store clerk at Home Depot for ten years. He had also worked at Bolin’s Donuts and Sears.

John loved his family and was especially proud of his children. He loved playing solitaire and other electronic games and enjoyed working jigsaw puzzles. John was an avid fan of the Indianapolis Colts, IU Hoosiers basketball and NASCAR.

Surviving with his wife, Sherry, are four children, Jennifer (Ryan) Ledford, Justin (Katherine) Ruff. Michael (Leesa) Kistler, and Jami Ruff; one sister, Michelle Imbody; his beloved grandchildren, Dustin, Aiden, Olivia and Kyle Kistler, Bowen, Hunter and D’Arcy Ledford, Lyla, Alayna, and Logan Ruff, and Rosanna Tuley. He is also survived by his Chihuahua, Buster.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandmother, Margaret Kistler.

John’s wishes will be honored with cremation and no public services. Arrangements have been entrusted to Fisher Funeral Chapel & Cremation Services.
