Dora Jean Chapman

Dora Jean Chapman, 97, Logansport, passed away early Wednesday morning surrounded by her family. She was ready to celebrate Christmas in Heaven with Jesus.
Born February 17, 1927 in White County, she was the daughter of the late Walter and the late Mildred (Raderstorf) Hickman.
In 1964, in Revo, Nevada, she was married to Wray W. Chapman who preceded her in death in 1991.
She was a member of the former Ninth Street Christian Church – now River of Life Christian Church. She also belonged to the Ladies’ VFW Auxiliary.
A homemaker, Dora Jean was the beloved matriarch of a very large, beautiful family.
She is survived by her daughter, Susie (Michael) Nelson of Lafayette; five grandchildren: Tony (Marci) Hayden, Lori (George) Barkas, Jill (Carl) Smith, Sami (Chris) Callaway, and Kenny Hayden; twenty-six great-grandchildren; and forty-five great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one son-in-law, Robert Hayden; and her grandson, Thomas Strahlem.
A funeral service celebrating Dora Jean’s life will be held at Fisher Funeral Chapel at 2 p.m. Saturday, December 28 with Dawn Fisher officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
Interment will follow in the Shideler Cemetery,
