Dorraine L. (Lane) Carson, age 60, went peacefully to be with the Lord and her loved ones at 10:15 a.m. on Saturday, December 21st, in Ascension St. Vincent Hospital, Kokomo, with her loving family by her side, after a courageous battle with liver and kidney failure.

Born November 28, 1964, in Balboa Naval Hospital, to Allen and Shirley (Pugh) Lane, Dorraine was the youngest of four children. She graduated from Lewis Cass High School in 1982 and then continued on at IU-K for fine arts. On April 21, 1984, she married James H. Carson, her loving husband of forty years, after meeting him on a blind date.

She was a 12-year breast cancer survivor and was very proud of it. She enjoyed helping with the Lewis Cass band events, painting and drawing, and her time in 4-H. She also enjoyed shopping where her husband would end up with other husbands holding bags in the middle of the mall

Dorraine was most known from working at the gas station in Walton. She also worked at Ironmonger Spring and Carter Fuel. She enjoyed her most recent job at Home Depot, where she would pass out stickers to kids and treats to the pups who would come in.

She is survived by her husband, James H. Carson; daughters, Alicia A. Carson, Kokomo, and Amanda J. Carson, Walton; brothers, Danny (Lydia) Lane, San Jose, California, Dennis (Loretta) Lane, Kokomo; several nieces and nephews; as well as many close and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Allen and Shirley (Pugh) Lane; sister, Diana (Lane) Johnson. She will be greatly loved and missed by all who knew her.

Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, December 27th, at Kroeger-Crain Funeral Home.

The funeral service is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. Saturday, December 28th, with Mike Stow officiating. Visitation will also be from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m., prior to the funeral service.
