Marie V. Riolo, 93 of Logansport passed away on Wednesday, December 18, 2024 in Indianapolis.
Born on October 31, 1931 in Abraham Utah she was the daughter of the late Marvin J Moody and Marie Thurmon.
She was a 1949 Graduate of Delta High School in Delta, Utah. She attended the Latter-Day Saints Business College in Salt Lake City, Utah
On December 17, 1962 she married Charles Anthony Riolo in Las Vegas, NV. After 53+ years of marriage, he preceded her in death on June 16, 2016.
Boo, as she was affectionately known because of her Halloween birthday, was number 9 out of 13 siblings. She and the other girls in the family worked their turkey farm while the boys in the family worked their cattle ranch. She came to Lafayette, Indiana to live with her eldest sister Virginia. She returned to Delta to be the primary caregiver of her mother who had ALS. In the later stages of the disease they painstakingly communicated through blinks and in writing in a cherished notebook. She later returned to Lafayette and found her true love Charles “Chuck hole Charlie” Riolo at Purdue University’s Deaks Bookstore. After a brief stay in California and the birth of their two girls, Boo and Chuck settled in Logansport and raised their family.
Boo was a life long member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in several callings. She also enjoyed working outside of the home after the girls were grown, especially her years at the Cass County Clerks Office.
Being a grandma and great-grandma was the joy of her last several years. Six years ago she wanted to live long enough to see a great grand baby. She now has 8 with 2 more coming this year! Grandma Boo loved her video calls with her grands!
Survivors include her daughters, Phyllis Metler (Robert) of Tulsa, OK and Marie Roach (Bryan) of Indianapolis, IN, grandchildren, Ashley Foster (BJ), Shelby Evans (Kaleb), Robert Metler, Bryan Roach (Heather), Madalyn Evans (Isaac) and Macey Sexton (Russell), great grandchildren, Emma Foster, Karaline and Danny Evans (Shelby), Tanner, Josie, and Cooper Evans (Maddy) and Wayne and Ginnie Sexton.
Boo was preceded in death by just about everyone! 🙂
