Eva I. Huggins, 86, of Logansport, passed away Friday, January 24, 2025 in Chase Center.

Eva was born January 8, 1939 in San Saba, TX to the late Eugene “Smokey” Clayton and Ella “Munner” Ione (Chambliss) Towerton.

On June 5,1955 she was married to Rev. Harold Yeates who preceded her in death in 1987. On February 19, 1994, she was married to William Douglas Huggins who preceded her in death in 2017.

Eva was a long-time member of Rehoboth Christian Church, where she played the piano every Sunday for many years. She served as the president of the women’s group at her church, demonstrating her dedication to her faith and community. Additionally, she was the President of Canaan Land Incorporated, contributing to missionary work for many years.

In 1971, Eva and her late husband opened Canaan Bible Bookshop in Logansport, where she worked for 53 years. Eva was a beloved figure in her community, known as a mom or grandma to everyone who knew her. Her legacy of love, faith, and service will be remembered by all whose lives she touched.

Eva is survived by her children June (Buck) Gaddis of Kimberling City, Missouri and Wade (Debbie) Yeates of Logansport; Jesse (Sherry) Huggins of Pueblo, Colorado, Sherrie (John) Johnson of West Lafayette, Cary (Amanda) Huggins of Logansport and Teresa (Michael) Jackson of Mayfield, Kentucky; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and one on the way.

She was preceded in death by one Sister, Kaye M Brown.

A funeral service celebrating the life of Eva will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday January 28.2025 at Fisher Funeral Chapel, with Pastor Richard Conrad officiating.

A visitation will be at 11a.m. until the time of the service.

Burial will follow at Mt Hope Cemetery.
